  1. THE HOUSE OF THE WOLF: P2 - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size coquille board. This icon drawing is the "Prologue" heading in the book, "THE HOUSE OF THE WOLF," by Basil Copper.

The novel was a good read even though it has a plot common in the mystery field; a small group of people are gathered in one isolated place, and one of them starts murdering the others, one at a time. The mystery is, which one of them is the killer?

In this book the place is an old European castle, and the people who were invited to spend the weekend there are being murdered one at a time by one of the guests, a killer who is also a werewolf!

Actually, this thing could have been a 1940's movie! Can't you see it? With guests starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello? And Lon Chaney Jr., Pasty Kelly, Mary Beth Hughes. And Fay Bainter, Beulah Bondi, maybe Victor Jory and C. Aubrey Smith? And of course, Jack Norton the actor who played a rubbery legged drunk in every movie he ever made!

It was a very good book, it diverted my attention from the lousy news of the day and gave me a few hours of reading pleasure. And it was fun to illustrate.
